I can possibly make it as a monster. I have monstered before I'm also a first aider. I'm not massively great at running about but if I'm some use please just poke me on myddvia@gmail.com.

Ok so this is a suggestion so don't shoot me if you don't like it. Looking at the numbers it seems that we don't really need that many more people and if we can't get them how about those that are playing pay maybe a fiver more that way the event can still go ahead and the faction don't loose any money running it - it just seems that a lot of people would be disappointed if the event were to be cancelled and this to me appears to be a not so expensive solution.

What do people think - remember you're not allowed to shoot me :)

I'd say that's a brilliant idea, personally. I'd be happy to do it...

Likewise, I'd be happy to pay a couple of quid more.

Hmm how do I get rid of that 'Lord General' bit? Don't want to be executed as a pretender! lol

A rough calculation:
Target number= 65
-
current total= 54

= 11 short
x current price(=£50)
=£550 short fall
divided between 54 players would be about £10.20 each.

That's if no-one minds paying extra. I know I wouldn't mind, just 49 more that haven't said :)

I am willing to put in an extra bit if needed (note i am crewing this one, so don't include me with the player calculations, just knock one person off the needed "extra")

Whilst I love the keen that's out there, some people are students and simply couldn't afford that much extra.

You mean like me jan ?

It was only a ball park figure anyway, and couldn't we just sort some way of it getting paid at/after the event ?

Can't take the risk. If just a few people couldn't manage it then James ends up paying out of his own money.

If we don't raise enough money to cover the cost of the event then James will end up covering the shortfall himself, which simply isn't fair. :(

understandable Jan.

I just think it'd be a massive shame to let an event like this slip past (esp with how long it is to my next larp event :( )

The amount needed depends on the shortfall, we only have a ball park figure to work with since we don't know exactly how much each person has paid (to the penny anyway), if we knew exactly how much we needed.. maybe the amount might be a little closer to what people can afford?

65 people isn't a random guess. That number has been worked out as the amount of people needed to cover the cost of the event and, ultimately, if we haven't got that many then we can't afford to run it I'm afraid.

I can see what you're saying but the logistics of finding out if 54 people can afford to pay extra within a short space of time would be a nightmare. It also puts people in an awkward position. What if you're one of 10 people, say, who can't afford to pay the extra? You're going to feel awkward and embarrassed and, if we're short, then James ends up paying the difference.

Yes it will be a shame if the event doesn't happen, but we have the date for the next event in November so hopefully people can channel their 'after the main events' keen into that one. :)

58... so close yet so far eh.

Im unsure about my attendance to moot 1 as of yet, and i don't feel like putting that much "keen" onto ODC

I suppose the Gef isn't that far away.

That's good of you Mike but the shortfall was too large.
