Booking is now open.

With this event we are introducing(*) a system of Optional Extras to allow you to pay for such as Catering with your event fee.

READ THE "Extras" CAREFULLY!!!
For each option you can select "pay with event fee" or "pay when on site".
The computer will merrily let you tick both options.
Don't.

(* - that is "testing properly")

On the event form it mentions a discount "where applicable". When/ who are "applicable"?

I think that for the full weekend events that's the old £5.00 off if you booked the previous one..

Is that applicable here?

No, there are no "previous attendance" discounts for this event. The options are there as a standard part of the code but for this event the discount is set to £0. The discount will apply for those who attended Order and Chaos when we open bookings for the October event.

If you are at all unsure about the extras part, please email me on logistics@wolf-faction.com with any questions and/or what you believed you were booking.

Just clicked on the Book Online tab and got an error message. :(

Can I have an email address to send the screencap of the message to? Assuming you want it.

You are not alone, it seems.
Only if it has actual SQL in it.
Just the "there was an error 'somewhere'" msg doesn't help.

"All try again"

Payment explosion should be sorted

Please watch out for one strangeness... if you tick an Extra in "personal details", do check it has turned up in "confirm". If not go back to personal details and re-tick it.
Let me know here if this crops up.

I have returned any apparently incomplete bookings to the "unbooked" stage so they can be editted and resubmitted (I think).

It worked for my booking anyway.

One thing we haven't mentioned yet is that we plan to have an IC bar at this event (yes, selling real alcohol).

@DM, it references something to do with line 1 [1064], I've no idea how relevant that is.

Still throwing up the same error message today.

Same here.

Although I'm internetless for a while from Friday, so I've printed out a paper form.

Sadly if is not, as it doesn't refer to a line of mine. 1064 just means "wah wah wah".

The freaky thing is how some people get it and others don't

Information that may or may not be of use to you, I've tried and got the same errors from both Firefox and IE (home and work).

These day's it's almost impossible to find two people who have exactly the same browser or OS patch history which makes it a bloomin nightmare to pin down things like this.

For those using IE8, try "inPrivate Browsing" (Ctrl shift P)

For those using Firefox try "Start Private Browsing" (Ctrl shift P)

It may help.

I had a work(*) related issue last week where one of my web apps was being broken (POST data not sent properly) because of the firewall settings of the user (a lady nurse in Preston). Her IT people "fiddled" with their network and all of sudden it all worls.

One of the problems with this error message is that it isn't generated by the heart of the booking system (which should produce different error messges) so I'm as some of a loss as how to track it.

(* - yes, occassionally)

Important not for people booking online. The "extras" system appears to not get saved on the first attempt for some people. Please follow these additional instructions when booking:

1.When you get to the "confirm booking" section, please check there if the boxes you checked are still checked.
2. If they are not checked, then click the "do not book yet" button at the bottom.
3. Then click "Change personal details" and check the correct boxes again followed by "save details" at the bottom of the page.
4. Now go to "Confirm booking" again and the correct options should be listed.
5. Proceed as normal with the booking from there

At 'Hand's over the sea' there will be a licenced ic bar.
Other than the standard, lager, bitter, cider,(possibly) real ale and mead. Does amyone have any request?

Despite checking and rechecking the tick boxes it didn't let me have extras - I have sent a pm :(
