Right - I'm trying to sort out some sort of layout for the moots and the G. So can you tell me if you will be bringing an IC tent please. Those who usually bring one are -

Volsungs - please let me know which size is being brought!
Raggers Tarp (can I have a rough idea of how many bell tents there will be to please)
Storm Ravens Tarp
Fellowship - gazeebo
House Sar'donnath - ? same as last year
OG (Chalkie's tent. Any others?)
Starcrafts - white circular tent
Wolfmoon (small circular tent)

If your group is not here and you think you will be bringing an ic tent(s) please let me know. Similarly, if there are any changes to the above - please let me know.

Cheers

Jan

Err, I don't even know where the Volsung tents ARE, Jan (John's mum's?).

I am not bringing a van to the HG so unless anyone else has a plan, the Volsung IC Tentage count is nil as far as I know.

Good job some of us are organised! The tents are currently in storage near me. Transport is sortable to get them to the events but we have the canvas one, the big party one and the smaller one. As we didn't use the two we took last year - and there won't be the room - which one do we want?

As the fire restrictions will pertain to the largest of our tents - I suggest the canvas one and the smaller party tent - for the Moot and the G, at least. Do we want an IC tent for the Games? If so, I suggest just the canvas one.

Karen

Probably 3 big white tents ala ragga stylee for the guard which may/may not be ic.

Useful huh.

Hmm - well at least it gives me a rough idea!! I doubt very much there's going to be room for the volung tent at the games - we're going to be short on space as it is.

the North Down Militia group will probably bring an IC tent again this year. I'm not sure of size, I'll get Glenn to confirm, but if anyone remembers we were the camo style square tent opposite House Sar'donnath (german raindrop pattern for you war buffs). It was the one very few people went near apart from said house (What, are we scary or something? Or prehapes it was the smell, I could never tell.)

Note that this year the LT are asking to be advised of large tents, but, as I understand, this is partly to give them a guide as to what regulations (derived from H&S@W and all sorts!) need to be documented for (potentially) ALL non-personal tents for next year, especially IC (and therefore "public") tents.

Thus, "but my tent is only 19.9 ft by 19.9 ft" will not be a getout clause.
Potentially

So - just to clarify - are there going to be any ic tents that will be over 20 ft by 20 ft being brought along this year? If so I need to know please.

Wolfmoon's tent wont be attending as it is low on cash...

And we've been too lazy to replace the essential nail that hold the thing up...the one that mysteriously went missing last Gathering

Poor old Wolfmoon's tent deserves a payrise, I feel.

if we just charge people for games of Extreem Kerplunk it could afford to retire to a small private island in the south pacific... like Austrialia

All

I have sent out mails to group leaders about IC tents at the moots. If you are a group leader and you've not received a mail from me can I

1) Have details of any Ic tents your group is planning on bringing to the moots

and

2) can I have your e-mail address or contact please.

I don't think I have a contact for the Shian Wolves - so if anyone knows it could they let me know please.

Cheers

Jan

North Down Militia Group leaders email address is
smackweasel@hotmail.com. He is called Glenn.

And mine is.....on the button.

He should be able to confirm the size of the tent. I can't remember. It was, big enough.

at a rough guess i would say the NDM ic tent is approx 7-8' feet square and in case its useful (i dont why it would be but...) its about 7' feet tall but check with glenn just to be sure.

Kara,

Sorry it has taken so long to finally get our act together with getting a login username but I have finally managed to get use of a PC were I can now communicate properly with the Faction.

I have been mailing various people with regards to our IC tent, so im glad I have found a thread to this cause. There will be 20+ Shian this year and we have bought a tent accordingly. Or tent is 3 x 9m which is 27m squared. I hope this will not be a problem.

For your info;
My e-mail address is stuartbaker75@hotmail.com
Site address is;

Thanks

Cheers Stuart.

So basic summary - the only big tents coming to the Gathering this year are the Volsung and the Shian Wolves ones? (though have to confess I'm not very good a metric measurements - so could be wrong about the Shian Wolves tent size!! )

Please correct this if necessary!

I think all the others are under the LT definition of 'big'!

Jan,

Just read another post from DM regarding fire extinguishers, fire exit signs and plans of the tent. Does this entail a top down drawing of the possible exits of said tent and where fire extinguishers are located? And do we hold this plan or do we hand it into faction command?

Any ideas?
