it would be great if we could have all of the groups banners in the command tent

I think this is an excellent idea. We should look to decorate as much of the command tent as possible for the Moot. As hosts I would expect lots of visitors to be coming to see the Queen and we want to show her, and the strength of the faction, in the best possible light.

It -is- a grand plan ... maybe should hassle a certain lady with a needle about making one for the Rangers.

Thea Talda don't have a banner yet either.

I've got one of those big Cabanon tents...

Image(Albeit, my one is green.)

If it would be of any use as a command tent for the Moots in addition to the marquee style one we usually have.

So we make the group banners to go in the bar.

Sadly I think they'll get stolen on the first night. Wolf Banners in the hall are fine. Group banners in the command tent shows the power and resources the Queen has to draw upon from her faction.

I like the idea of group banners. It shows our strength as well as showing any potential enemies that we are all wolves and we will ALL be there should they take arms against us. It can act as a deterrant as well as pretty nice decoration.

even if the wanderers banner isn't ready by then, we'll be able to provide a small group badge for the decorations

If space in the command tent is a problem, and the Bar isnt an option, how about Smaller pennants in the Command tent, and the larder group banners are displayed around camp, ideally at the various group IC tents or as close as damnit.

And Personally I think this is something we should maintain even after the moot is over ;o)

If we are going to be making unit banners, do we have an idea of sizes for pennants, banners or both? It will look nicer if they are approxiimatly the same size and I don't want to start on something only to find out we wanted it bigger/smaller!

1 foot wide by 2 foot long sounds about right. We should be able to fit all the groups in the command tent if we stick to that size.

Moot Setup.

During the week before the Moot a regular setup crew put up all the big tents and get the site ready for all of us to get onto site. They are able to get the set structure up; however, it is always helpful if some people from the hosting faction are able to help that week.

If anyone is free for the week before the moot (or at least some of the days leading up to it) and would like to help out, that would be fantastic.

It will be hard work and we wouldn’t just be putting up the set. We would be doing whatever the setup crew asked us to do from morning till evening (which would also include the set.)

I shall be there from Saturday before the Moot and on site all that week. If anyone wants to join us for that week please send me a PM soon.

The other project we have is to try and make the bar look a bit better than it does and more of an IC location. If anyone has spare material, time and inclination could they make table cloths, hangings, decorations for a Norse Mead Hall or indeed the faction tent so we have enough dressings for both!

I do not believe we have funding for much at the moment so please be careful with your costs and use spare material you know you do not want reimbursing for. This is an initiative to get the ball rolling and we will be supplementing it with spare materials and props from setup. It does not have to be perfect this time but lets have a good go at setting the trend!

See you in a few weeks there!

How are the banners coming along?

Will they be ready for the Moot? I've made 2 out of table cloths and can be put up in the bar or command tent.

Thanks

You could do worse then get some circles of wood painted like viking shields hung around the bar.

If I get the free time I'll try to get some shrouded circle banners done as I believe I have all the material for it.
I might be able to help further depending on what I have spare.

Is there a specific design for the wolf banners?
Are we settled on 1ft by 2ft for group banners?
Are standard wolf banners going to be a differfent size?
Is there anything else needed and if so what do we need?

If you let me know what you need I'll let you know what I can get done.

Faction banners not group banners, I'm not made of money darlin' it would cost me a fortune to do up banners for all the groups.
