Now England is "allegedly" smoke free. Can Faction Command confirm how the LT will implement its application to them.

Principally, and I hope, this will mean now:- ALL enclosed and substantially enclosed tentage.

So Faction command tents, Guild tents, ritual citcles, themed marquees AND the beer tent will be non-smoking rather than just on an ad hoc basis through the site?

Have the LT provisioned for all neccessary signs required by law, else facing a fine? Indeed, was this in effect for Sunday morning of the second moot in fact?

James

Certainly Guild tents have always been no smoking due to the fire hazard, the bar tent was also no smoking at the GEF, with a small open air but covered area for smokers outside.

Ritual Circle definitely had No Smoking signs up at its entrances.

Makes no difference to me, I've always smoked outside of public tents at events included IC tents for players..

Bar, ritual circle etc all had no smoking signs up.. I didnt see any signs up in faction commant tents etc, not sure if there needs to be..

You will not have seen any on our faction command tent because we didn't have a faction command tent at the second moot. It is still being repaired after the damage done by a combination of rubbish weather and people being bloomin stupid and not respecting it at the first moot. So I'm afraid I can't lend it to the faction again at the moment.

All tents belonging to the LT (and thus counting as publically accessible areas) have been non-smoking since the begginning of the event year. I am also lead to believe that the appropriate legal signs are also now available for the setup of the G for those tents that were not signed before.

As private areas are not covered by the law I am not sure how it applies to command tents as they belong to pivate individuals, however the Wolf command tent has been non-smoking for some years and will continue to be so. I cannot comment on other factions command tents.

I tend to assume any IC tent is non smoking if it's walled.. mainly because I can rarely if ever tell if the owners are smokers or not..

Yup, all entrances to public tents (well,c ertainly the Monster Room) had signs as worded by legal gubbins.
The bar was smoking free.
A covered area was provided near to it.
I think the governing factor for such coverage was
above 50% walled - no smoking
below 50% walled - smoking alloweed.
So, no walls is clearly below 50% and I think the other (LT) decision was any walls are not 0% so those were no smoking.

I have always had no problem smoking outside the tents, especially when i'm killing time around the guild area but did anyone notice a lack of bins around at the moots? You may not have done if you weren't looking for somewhere to put a cig end but it annoyed me

I wasn't and have zero sympathy.
Clear up your own waste matter.

Of course there are people over by the catering wagons that could do the same!!
Grr.

I've recently taken to using a portabler ashtray and a small plastic bag when I can't find a bin...

Although it has been known for me to walk halfway across the field just to dispose of a butt...

I'd presume Old Holborn tins work well?
If you can still get tins not packets?
