On top of the Games Jay has planned i will be running games of Fenris Dice, a game of skill, tactics, luck and above all DRINKING!!!!!

Here are the rules:
Max 4 players
The game has two sets of rules, Take the spoils and Take no prisoners.

Firstly all players assemble in a rough circle and roll a D6 to find out who goes first, the winner (with the highest roll) can chose to go either first or last and which direction the order of march goes around the circle, should he/she choose to go last then the player may order another player to go first.
The winner of the dice roll also chooses the rule set.
Deployment Phase:
Take the spoils-All players have one shot which is placed in the center of the table to begin.
Take no prisoners-All players have two shots, one is placed in the center of the table to begin.....the second is placed in the center by a player wishing to redeploy, no shot no redeployment.
Before any dice a rolled the inforcer (ref) calls out "FOR FENRIS ROLL YOUR DICE".
All players have 5 dice which they roll in turn with the aim to get sections and formations, sections are results containing 2 or more of the same number and formations contain two sections, or the rare circle of death (a straight of 1 to 5 or 2 to 6) and circle of treachery (no scoring result).
once the all players have rolled they then have a oppertunity to redeploy (re roll any or their dice) in same order of march as the first roll.
During the dice rolls you may venerate you ancestor.
Combat Phase:
sections and formations are scored as follows:
Most powerfull- Wolf's Snout (a pair and a triple) formation
Shield wall (two pairs) formation
Command Section (5 of a kind)
Red Section (4 of a kind)
Blue Section (3 of a kind)
Least Powerfull- Green Section (a pair)
A Circle of death will beat all sections.
A circle of treachery will beat all formations.
Take the spoils: The most powerfull score wins, if multiple of the same winning section or formation appear these must do battle....if sections do battle then the section dice are rolled and added up with the highest score winning e.g Red section rolls 4 dice, green rolls 2 etc...if formations do battle then the individual sections within the formation are rolled then added up individually e.g wolf's snout 2 dice then 3 dice etc... the idea is to gain more wins...in the event of a draw then the dice are rolled again until there is a victor.
If a circle of death appears then all formations regardless of power do battle with a circle included (the circle may choose to roll its dice how it chooses).
If a circle of treachery appears then all sections regardless of power do battle with the circle included (rolling as above).
If both appear they cancel each other out no matter how many of each appear.
Take No Prisoners: The idea here is not to be a ultimate looser, if multiple loosing section or formation appear then these must do battle as described above, the looser (with the lowest score) being the ultimate looser.
If a circle of death appears then all sections are loosers and must do battle regardless of power, the circle is NOT included.
If a circle of treachery appears then all formations are loosers and must do battle regardless of power, the circle is NOT included.
If both circles appear then they are the loosers and must do battle, the other sections and formations are NOT included.
Drinking Phase:
Take the Spoils-The winner chooses which of the players has shots with a maximum of two per player.
Take no prisoners-The ultimate looser drinks all the shots

The rules may seem complex but once you get a few rounds in it all sinks in.
As you can probably see take no prisoners is naughty set of rules.

FOR FENRIS!!!

Really good idea guys. Sounds like it's going to be a lot of fun- hope you all have a great time!

I'm off to the Harts for the weekend now to play with some Vamps. Anyone else planning on going?

If anybody wants to workshop at this coming event, learn some songs or poems, write some songs or poems, or even teach me some, I'll be delighted to dedicate my weekend to exactly that. Looking forward to doing some serious barding 8)

It will be ok to arrive and set up camp at anytime, We will have people there from about 2.30pm friday. i will be there to remove outer gates at 0900 to set up a beer Cask in the building.

If any of you have your own tankards or drinking horns etc, please bring them if you have them, if not we have spares.
We have casks and kegs and will try to keep the main hall in character.

There is a large grassed area in front of the building so you can set up there.

If you need picking up at the Railway station (Wakefield)PM me and i will forward a contact number,

Bobbie and I will be travelling through Wakefield to Woolley on Friday afternoon and can pick up one person + stuff from the train station en route; basically if you + your stuff will fit on the back seat of an average sized car we can fit you in.

I'm not sure what time we'll be leaving on Sunday as we need to be back for the rugby but can most likely drop someone back at the station too.

We'll probably be in Wakefield at about 4ish on Friday, so if you're getting into the station about then and would like a lift let me know; I don't think there'll be a mad dash or anything, but just in case there is, it'll be whoever's first to reply or pm me.

Ta

Vic :-)

Weather forecast for Wakefield, which is where Woolley is, is windy on Friday, patchy light rain on Saturday but the wind dying down, then patchy light rain possible on Sunday. It has been a bit chilly on a night time up here over the last week or so, layers would be advisable.

Its prime Norscan weather, its due to pick up over the weekend, you wont be cold in the mead hall or around the campfire :D

All who are attending have a safe journey, there will be a bell tent pitched on the camping area and the gates will be open from 0830. I have a beer keg to set up at that time.

For Norsca
(Means Fenris)

Thank you guests for making it a cracking weekend, good weather, games and sports were played fairly, good hunting in the forest.
The Bards were awsome, assisted by the garrisons hospitality,Keg of ale (9 gallons) and the six Kegs of Abbey Cider(30 gallons) that the Hoard got down their necks not to mention their own tipples.

I thank blood section(a very rare acknowledgement of their worth), for being the serving staff and general dogs bodies, not to mention the quarry of the hunts.

Im afraid Gunners mum couldnt make it she was tied up,(for a slight extra cost)

I would like to thank Gaijin the Dessert Wolf, who is shortly bound to go to Afgan to serve the nation, for finding or telling us what is possibly the meaning of life. I hope you had a good farewell party brother and I look forward to your safe return later in the year, when we shall gather again in celebration.

Thank you all for a cracking Viking weekend.
