Fellow Wolves and Allies, we are sorry that the planned Gathering is not to take place on the 9th 10th and 11th March.
However, the Order of Fenris, are been sent on to Garrison an outpost at the edge of the Slavic Forest.

Please feel free to join them for the weekend and celebrate A Lunar and Solar event where the Sun and Moon are seen in the sky together, known to the Order as the NIGHT of THE WOLF CHILDREN, (Both Hati and Skol are both abroad together for a short time)

Abbey Cider will be on tap all weekend for those who dare risk it. A banquet, Bonfire, Singing, poetry, General gaming, Shield wall challenge, Viking games, and any training you wish to do.

There is no intelligence that any known enemies will be likely to attack the outpost during the weekend.

OOC-
The cost for the weekend camping is £20.
There will be a banquet on the Saturday night hosted by the Brothers and if you wish to partake of the hospitality the cost will be £5.

There will be no other catering for the camp however there is ASDA 10 minutes away (maps will be provided) and a full fitted catering kitchen is on site. You will be welcome to use it throughout the weekend.

There are Hot showers and toilets on site and a reasonably large camping field.

There are no indoor bunks available Im afraid, so it will be tents.

Book via email to phil1429@sky.com - I just want to know your name, Character name, how many tents, and if you want the Saturday Banquet. Payment in Cash please on the Friday.

Look forward to seeing you there

Regards

Phil

I spoke to Karl earlier about this.

I think the concept of the event is a great one, however please be aware that it's not a Sanctioned LT Event and thus the LT game rules do not apply and there won't be any Wolf Faction plot run out. It's also not covered by the Wolf Faction or LT insurance policy.

Not trying to be a spoilsport, just need make these things clear.

Once again, great idea! :-)

Have fun.

James

**don't want to be a dampener on this, but I feel the following must be said**

PLEASE NOTE: This is an unsanctioned event and therefore cannot be officially run under the Lorien Trust Rules. It is also (unless I'm mistaken) uninsured. The Lorien trust will likely distance itself from anything that happens here from both an IC and an OOC standpoint. Its basically just a bunch of mates getting together for a weekend.

EDIT: James beat me to it but want to add, also not trying to be a spoilsport, I just want everyone to be aware of the situation. I'll be elsewhere now but I hope you all have a great weekend

Will be there with bells on, something tells me the Wolf Father & Inquisition will most likely insist that to add to my punishment I join the serving staff so hell I'll volunteer right now, lol.

Information for Bards - The last time we held a small event Thorkill, Osric and Baldr were all on top form for song writing, so bring your books, pens and paper.

I think it's time that goblin affairs sends a crack agent to investigate what really goes down in the abbey  might use it as a backdrop to my winter training (through from behind or escape bonds, depending on how it pans out ;-)

Operation Thorkill the Green is now in full motion

Many thanks James and Malc for clarifying this. I whole heartedly agree and as it has just been pointed out to me I came back to post the same to make sure this was clear to everyone. So to reiterate:-

I must stress this is NOT a Sanctioned LT Event and as such the LT rules do not apply. The event is NOT covered by either LT or Wolf Faction event insurance.

It is just a group of like minded individuals getting together to socialise.

The rules for Any games and/or combat during the weekend will be agreed by the particpants at the time and as such the participants will take part at their own risk.

I hope that clears up any ambiguity.

Phil

Here is a sample of the fun to be had (in between the training, singing and drinking that is)

The Viking Games

The Game of Fenris (War/Agression)
Rules
Everyone who enters will face off in a single weapon fight (no magic). All will have one hit per location, and fight within a defined area. Last one still upright wins. Alliances are allowed, and treach ermmm tactical attacksa re encouraged.

Game of Hugnin (Thought/Riddles)
Rules
The challengers must answer 10 riddles from a selection of 40, they have 30 seconds to think about each riddle, with an extra 5 seconds for each Healer, Mage and Incanter level they have, and 5 seconds if they can contribute to ritual
Example
Jaeger is a thump monkey – 30 seconds
Peacock is an Incanter 1 – 35 seconds
Valda is an Incanter 1 and Healer 2, with contribute – 45 seconds
The person who correctly answers the most riddles wins, with a special really difficult riddle in case of ties.

Game of Mugnin (Memory)
Rules
A tray with 30 random items on it, from a pool of 50, the challenger gets 30 seconds to memorise the items, with an additional 5 seconds for Mage and Incanter levels, and 5 seconds if they can contribute to ritual
Example
Jaeger is a thump monkey – 30 seconds
Peacock is an Incanter 1 – 35 seconds
Valda is an Incanter 1 and Healer 2, with contribute – 45 seconds
The person who recalls the most items wins, with ties being decided by speed.

Game of Sleipnir (Speed)
Rules
A simple footrace, round a course determined at the event, a 5 lap race, with a 5 second head start for each level of body development the player has, which should give the thump monkeys a chance.

Game of Tyr (Sword)
Rules
A duel with a sword and shield, you have what you have, and the winner wins…no magic allowed

Game of Odin (Insults)
Rules
All challengers have their names placed in a helm, and drawn out in pairs at random. The pairs then trade 4 insults, which will be judged by the crowd, if at any point you reduce your opponent to speechless incoherence…you win, otherwise the audience decides

Game of Freyja (Hunting)
Rules
Several people will be released into the area with some form of distinctive arm band/sash. They will be given a 15 minute head start, and each one will be worth a number of points, known only to themselves, and the judges. The hunters will set out after him/her, and must find them within 2 hours, at which point the hunt is over, and the hunter with the most points wins. Ambushes are encouraged against other hunters, but no magic is allowed, and no hunter can be ambushed within 10 ft of the hut.

Game of Loki (Knives)
Rules
The only weapons you can use are knives, and no armour is allowed. The knives can up to 12inches in length, down to thrown knives. There is no limit to the number of knives you may bring no magic is allowed.

Game of Braggi (Tale telling)
Rules
The challengers will each tell an original tale around the fire, of an event from recent wolf history. The audience will vote with their cheers, jeers and catcalls, the high bard had better win this

Game of Ullr
Rules
The challengers face each other, with one arrow each, they cannot mover their feet, but they can move their upper body. When the judge says to commence, they each have to shoot their opponent, whilst not being shot themselves, they score 1pt for a hit on their opponent and 2pts for not being hit. The pairs are random and there will be three rounds of shooting. After that, the half with the lowest score are eliminated, and random pairs drawn again. It will continue until the last pair, where they will actually have 6 arrows and must score 2 hits before their opponent.

Dance of Valhalla
Rules
Their need to be 6 challengers in each group, surrounded by a square ring, in each corner is a pile of weapons, and shields. 2 of the challengers stand in the middle, the other four stand one at each corner. The challengers have 3 global hits, and can pick up any weapons from the piles when they enter, when a challenger falls, the next steps in, the fallen retreats to the spare corner. The current champion does not heal any of his hits, the fallen recovers them all ready to step into the ring again when their turn comes. The winner is the first to complete a circuit of challengers without loss.

I belive it's woolly edge scout camp. Entrance opposite Middle Field lane.

It's about a mile walk from woolly services.

Closest train station is Darton, about 2 miles away.

Though having some one who really knows what they're talking about confirm this would be good. :)

The site name is correct its just off junction 38 M1.Phils link will provide map.

The best railway station to the national rail link is Wakefield westgate, a pre arranged none profit pick up service can be provided through Phil or myself.

the site has a modern centrally heated building hot water showers etc.
We have held two training camps there before and the main hall is completely in theme/character(You have been in our shrine and know the levels of absobtion we expect)

The banquet is held in theme, character and candle lit only, you will be served by black robed waiters(forget they may be on punishment detail) I will remain in good order to keep up the smooth running of the meal and will be probably in the kitchens.

the atmosphere is fantastic, the fire pit is ace, and i will make further enquiries regarding insurance/

Oh and the Abbey cider is on tap.

The High Bard had better NOT win the Game of Braggi. It's a chance for the rest of you to show your barding abilities, and I'll be busy talent spotting :D

Our repatoir of songs has increased somewhat, although under the influence of abbey cider. We also have a few tales to tell.

Whilst I would love to come to this, I very much doubt I could make it with the current situation. Although someday I think I will have to pop over to Leeds to see the Order and visit the local watering holes!
