Just a quickie to say, nice to see you at the weekend and witness your very effective ref and monster teams in action. They have provided us with a lot to live up to. (pay back for the bar maybe ;-) )

As allies all Wolves are welcome to either play or monster at our event next March, bookings are currently open.

Hope to see you then

:D

It brings the Bears event team great pleasure to confirm that we have booked Andy Painter better known to us all as the 'chap in the hat' and caterer 'Spitroast' who for many years served us dragon steaks and such delicacies at LT mainline events. Some of you will remember that Andy catered for our Festival of Heroes event on a 'pay as you go' basis. This was so well received that we have decided to offer the same at our 'Walk in the Woods' event.

So not only do we have the legendary Crimson Moon Bar to wet your whistle but also Andy's amazing food to keep yourselves well fed. We will post more info as to the menu options however expect all you old favorites to be available.

So go on.. book now and not only feel smug that you saved some money by booking before the price goes up (31st Dec) but also safe in the knowledge you can gorge yourself on what is arguably the best event food around.

I had a chat with Rob last night and this event sounds like it could be a real cracker..... good plot, good food and good beer!

If you have the weekend spare, I'd certainly recommend checking it out.

Thanks Jules

We have 24 player places left and lots of space for (energetic) monsters. We will make sure that all get a chance to sample the Crimson moon during the event. :-)

Cheers all

Rob

Morning all

We have temporarily kept the bookings open to see if we can get a few more attendees.

We 11 player places left and 24 monster spots too. 3 Wolf monsters signed up last night...yay! :-)

(Flourent Cordene (sp?) you are part way through your booking are you still likely to be coming?)

So come along and lay the smack down (again ;-) ) on Bears, a sizable bunch of Gryphons and one of your npcs. You know it make sense.

Cheers all

Rob

Was awesome, check out my FB for pictures of the treant!!

Only real downside was the caterer, changed the menu taking before he got on site taking him from acceptably pricy to outrageous (£4 for bacon butty, £6 for pig in a bun) which was a real shame because when he was at the mainlines he was amazing. His pay as you go structure really worked for keeping immersion up as you will see in the highlights

Other highlights were the IC bar they used as the IC area for the whole weekend
An awesome rite where a seasoned Bear sacrified himself to save the forest (gave me shivers)
The entire monster crew (of which there were 30+!! Genius bears for asking for monster deposits) dressed in the same outfit to DPC talkie roles in the BAR for large chunks of the weekend including meal times!!!
*Bad Arnie accent* LOOK AT MY SUPERIOR MUSCLES!!!!
Scarecrows!!!

Sharratts wood was quite a reasonable site considering how wet it was, lots of usable ground scattered throughout the site for skirmish encounters

The other upside is that 4 new larpers came with wolf monsters and are looking to come to the mainlines this year!! go team wolf! If you see Jake, Beck, Ronnie and Darcy say hello and be nice to them!

From a monster side it was really awesome. We were all full of keen, everthing was very organised and the IC bar looked great, kept us well stocked in mead and was a great place to centre the event on. There were some pretty fantastic bards in there singing Wolf songs as well >.> The refs managed a weekend of horrible weather really well (props Trav!) and all the fighting was really safe.

The idea of the caterers was fantastic. You could just go along and get your food at a good break in the day rather than having to stop everything for an hour or more so that you could get eerone through eating. It would have benefited from being more of an actual meal rather than just meat and a roll every meal.

Hi guys

It was great to have so many Wolves there, both monstering, playing and Trav is a legend in yellow (just saying).

The weather was awful so many parts had to be scrubbed but I think on balance everything went okay.

We were disappointed with the caterer, I won't say any more on that here.

So huge thanks to the Wolf attendees (and everybody else who may stumble across this forum) for making the event possible.

Rob (and Jill)
:)

Just for info (and memory) we had 39 monsters, 55 players and 8 crew.
