Hey guys, here I am again with yet another question.

As some of you may know my group and I have planned on going to the Fayre this year and my question is this: How is the pricing of weapons and armor at the acctual event? any cheaper than buying it off websites? If so well take money and buy it there instead. Also, what can you buy with in-game money?

Thanks a lot

You can buy armour and weapons with IC money too, after a fashion.
If you have various "make" skills from Armour/Weaponsmith OS, Scribe Scroll OS or various Create Potion OS then you can use IC money for the "ingredients" and either use the results yourself or sell them on.

e.g. You could make a suit of "better armour" if you were some grade of Armoursmith. This would result in a lammie to attach to your armour physrep to grant it such as "+1 AV", i.e. an extra hit per location.

So basically if you have the ingrdients and the OS required you can make a lammie which you can attach to your armour or someone elses? Do you keep that armor lammie 'upgrade' for the events you visit after that one?

When you make an item such as that, they usually last for a year.

You can put it on whatever armour you have that matches the lammie.
e.g.
"Light Armour, +1 AV" has to be on a set of light armour and none higher.
"Heavy Armour, +2 AV" has to be on a set of heavy armour and none lower.

It can be transfered (ideally in an OOC situation) and cable tied on.
It can be IC traded or IC stolen.

Fair enough. And how are they price wise in OOC-money?

They don't. Buying a lammie for OOC money may even be criminal, same as people who have put IC cash and OSP discs on eBay..

I meant about buying the acctual armor and weapons tho, not lammies to improve them etc.

Ah right. The various traders have websites. I've bought little / nothing myself for some time.

You could look at http://www.lrpstore.com/

Check out Darkblade for leather armour (see Links on left menu) and Velvet Glove for padded etc.

Iv got my stuff from lrpstore.com, so I know more or less the prices. chest armor is about 120 upwards and weapons are from 60 upwards for swords. Any cheaper at the Fayre?

"Could be"
There will be many traders who you can see face to face.
They may have special offers, want to clear stock or be prepared to make deals.
Plus you get to see what you are buying.

I think you can safely bet that it won't be any more expensive than the website(s), although choice may be limited to how much stock they can bring and how much they sell before you get there (if you leave it late in the event for example). You obviously won't be able to have anything custom made either, although some traders may make your custom items and allow collection at an event rather than delivery.

Darkblade usually carry most of the items on their website at main events, they make very nice. quality leather armour and are not too expensive. Also if you want something in particular Tim will custom make or adjust it for you.

You are best off buying weapons at an event as it is important that you can pick it up, feel the weight, find out if it's comfortable in you hand, if it will fit in your belt loops and give it a few test swings.

Bobbie.
