"The Bricks", the Satirical Folk band comprising myself, Lester the Jester, and Cassius the Ancestor who Cares, have just finished our first volume of songs. These will be imprinted onto special enchanted silver discs that have the ability to play themselves for your amusement (with the correct technology). The album is entitled "A Brick Over Troubled Mortar".

The tracklist is as follows:

1: Not Scared Of Spiders
2: The Offensive Song
3: My God's Better Than Your God
4: The Jester Blues
5: All I Care About
6: 'Til Death Do Us Part
7: One on One with the Lady
8: Hobbit Love
9: Little Vampire
10: The Worst Audience
11: Do You Speak Norscan?
12: Enthrall The World (On behalf of "ThrallAid")

Special Bonus Track (First 10,000 purchases only): Norscan Summer

In addition, we would like to announce that we have completed two new songs for live performance, "Just Like You" and "The Carpentry Song". We have several others in the process of being written.

Yours humbly,

Kasimir Svettirsson,
Skald of Love

Ah, yes, very good and all. But, what about the price? Are we talking about proper money, or those stupid bits of paper that seem to turn up in my pockets?

I'd like one. Any way you can get the hammer song as perfomed by the whole wolf faction onto CD?

The price is likely to involve a yet-to-be-determined "non-plastic" element. We haven't priced up the phyisical production of it yet.

(OOC: In the region of £5-£7 we are thinking, depending on how elaborate the CD insert is going to be...)

The Hammer Song is not a song by "The Bricks". I understand that an album is being produced by Chilled Mead, its authors. I am sure that song will feature on their tracklist... and a far better version than we could ever hope to produce to boot...

Cool, I'll take a copy please Neil.
I'll look forward to hearing it.

Incidently do you have a friend engineering or are you paying someone a fortune to do it for you. Reason being that I have access to a professional engineer and his studio down in Notts (very reasonable prices).

As far as the hammer song goes;

It will be appearing on the Chilled Mead album in all it's glory.
We've been playing around with ideas to get a live recording rig at an event for a while now though there are a few factors to take into account;

You'll need to power it, unless the LT will let you patch in to one of their generators.
Generators create noise.
the studio will need to be out of the way so as not to cause an eyesore for roleplayers, It's bad enough having a huge plastic pub on site let alone racks of monitors and cables everywhere.

I think Smarty is planning to record to quality that can actually be played back on more than a walkman.....

With a microphone alone costing more than a laptop!

etc

Smarty,

We went down to Cornwall and recorded it in Steve's brother's front room. He is a sound engineer and has a desk and an 8-track (although only 6 were working...).

Between travel costs, accommodation etc.. it worked out quite dear but at least we got a free holiday into the bargain!

We only just had enough time, so there are a lot of imperfect takes on the songs... recording 3 songs a day, when you aren't allowed to make any noise until 5pm because of the opticians downstairs, is quite stressful..
