I don't know if it's a wolf written song, or just a general one, but I'm looking for the details of a song I heard at a few cross faction wakes.
It includes the lines:
"Raise a glass to the lucky *******
He's several drinks ahead."

If anyone knows where I can find the song I'd be grateful.

Some friends and I in a public house
Was playin' dominoes one night
When into the pub a fireman ran
His face all a chalky white.
"What's up", says Brown, "Have you seen a ghost,
Or have you seen your Aunt Mariah?"
"Me Aunt Mariah be buggered!", says he,
"The bleedin' pub's on fire!"

"Oh well," says Brown, "What a bit of luck.
Everybody follow me.
And it's down to the cellar
If the fire's not there
Then we'll have a grand old spree."
So we went on down after good old Brown
The booze we could not miss
And we hadn't been there ten minutes or more
Till we were quite like this...

Chorus...
And there was Brown upside down
Moppin' up the whiskey on the floor.
"Booze, booze!" The firemen cried
As they came knockin' on the door (clap clap)
Oh don't let 'em in till it's all drunk up
And somebody shouted MacIntyre! MACINTYRE!
And we all got blue-blind paralytic drunk
When the Old Dun Cow caught fire.

Then, Smith walked over to the port wine tub
And gave it just a few hard knocks (clap clap)
Started takin' off his pantaloons
Likewise his shoes and socks.
"Hold on, " says Brown, "that ain't allowed
Ya cannot do that thing here.
Don't go washin' trousers in the port wine tub
When we got Guinness beer."

Chorus...

And then there came a mighty crash
Half the bloody roof caved in.
We were almost drowned in the firemen's hose
Though we were almost happy
So we got some tacks and some old wet sacks
And we tacked ourselves inside
And we sat there getting bleary-eyed drunk
While the Old Dun Cow caught fire...

Chorus...

Just out of interest does anyone know which bards will be in attendance at the GEF. I'm in need of a violinist (and possibly a guitarist too, whether or not that's needed I'll have to discuss with the violinist). If someone could point me in the right direction I'd be most appreciative.

Erm... not sure if the Raggers have a violinist, I remember a guitarist when they were last in the Wolves, but that was years ago... I don't play an instrument, not sure about Tinelle/Alex.

Try the Bards Guild at http://www.bardsguild.co.uk/, they might be able to give an idea....

Our two main fireside warblers will both be unavailable every night at the GEF after moonrise, due to 'other duties'....

friday night we should be full of bards, but not a violinist that I know of, I believe we have 3 guitars, a lot of voice and a ropily played dance harp that's a bit to quiet to be heard over the fire, oh and probably a few bodrum

There's a very good violinist in the PBs. She might be willing to help. Ask on http://forums.lionsfaction.co.uk/index.php?sid=1ecab75469fcd235d06e96430874c00d

I could attempt to play a violin with claws on but I don't think it would work too well, I'll be doing my bit in the name of bard before the moon rises. Hmmm that reminds me, now I've been replaced as High Healer does that mean I can be bumped up from acting Master Bard to Master Bard? Or does the same full moon, 'being a puppy' rule still apply?

All those in favour of having a young were with a temper barding on a full moon say I.

Feeling bitter, Tinnele? I can understand you might be feeling put out but considering the job of High Bard, being publically bitter and sarcastic will not endear you or further your chances of the job.

You see the job requires someone to recount the Faction's achievements, to sing, to be the representative of the Wolves to the Bards' Guild, and someone to lead the Faction in song.

I'm sure they'll find someone suitable soon and announce it when they do.

Sadly the job also requires tact, subtlely and the ability to operate even during the full moon. You made the choice to become a were, no one forced you, if you didn't review the consequences of such a life changing decision that is no one's fault but your own.

For a start no-body asked you Kendrick, I am not being publicly bitter but actually trying to joke about the unfortunate miscommunication that happened at the Moot, so keep your nose out you weren't even there. And as for openly insulting another member of the faction does not endear you to them.

As you well know I spend most of my time singing, telling tales of the faction and of the Ancestors and I'm not that bad at it. I don't mind if I get a job in the faction or not, it's not important I was however trying to bring a small amount of entertainment by putting forward the image of myself in were-form trying to sing. An amusing image to anyone put apparently one that has passed you by.

And I do have tact and I'm sure I could be subtle if I tried, though I don't see how antagonising me will help me develop in these areas. If you have an opinion about me either keep it to yourself or talk to me in person. Don't broadcast them over the lay.

As for becoming a were, it wasn't my choice but it isn't something that I would change even if I could, it's one of the best things that happened to me. So once again you are voicing comments about something that you don't fully know about.

In summery, I'm not bitter, I was trying to have a joke, you don't know as much as you think you do and you've done a very good job of annoying me.
