It is with a heavy heart that I list those of our nation who gave up their lives in the fight against Mortarius:-

Iran Sarasmith of the Storm Ravens
Harkon Drakonfeld of the Storm Ravens
Jal Frayzisson of the Storm Ravens
Corad Fenrisson of The Fellowship
Lotun Endrborin of the Wolfmoon
Faraday Starcraft of the The Starcrafts
Nikolai of the Volsungs
Kincaid of the Wanderers of the Vale
Githinel Feybane of House Sar'Donnath
Lars of the North Down Militia

They died heroes deaths and will take their rightful places in Valhalla. Their sacrifices make our nation a safer place and they will never be forgotten.

Kara
Lady Seneschal

I am sorry to all who lost family and friends. They all died well and will be greatly missed.

In sadness,

Annawyn

One of the fallen died of a decay caused by a trap. Sadly such foul death means that he has denied him a place in valhalla. This man deserves our grief and sorrow the more than any other of the fallen ... for the rest stand in the halls of the ancestors where we all hope to go when we die.

Lo, there do i see my father
Lo, there do i see my mother and my sister and my brothers
Lo, there do i see the line of my people back to the beginning
Lo, they do call to me
They bid me take my place among them in the Halls of Valhalla
where the brave may live.

Forever.

Danke my soldiers.

Tarkis,

One can only hope that a way can be found to save those who have gone to Niflheim. After seeing it with my own eyes I wish that no-one has to see it again.

While we were there, we saw those who had died in battle but had been refused by Freya in the embargo she made years ago ... and we saw those who had not died as a result of battle.

Those that died in battle could be laid to rest and sent to Freya ... attempts to lay those to rest who didn't die in battle were failures ... they were already where fate had decreed they should be. If there is ever a way to save one as such ... it is only through the very destruction of their soul.

If I am sent to niflheim when I die ... I can only hope you will find a way to destroy my soul ... because I would prefer oblivion to an eternity in niflheim.

Mekka

I think perhaps I should have words with the Skjald Kasimir. It was a tough battle with a glorious victory and sad losses ... the deeds and the fallen deserve to be remembered in song around our camp fires. I believe Kasimir is best suited to such a song.

It is with a heavy heart that the news of the deaths of Wolves reaches me in the cold north but particularly I feel for Corad Fenrisson who was in my mind one of the finest scouts in Erdreja. Corad worshipped Lunas and as such he will reside forever in Lunas guiding light.

Also Iran another fine man and another great scout

And to The Stormravens I also mourn the loss of Harkon and I am said to say that the last words we ever spoke to each other were not good ones, I wish I could have apologised before he died.

If a member of the Fellowship could contact me and let me know of the arrangements for Corad I would be obliged.

Many Thanks

May you go in Lunas guiding light and may the great ice protect you.

Jarl of Vetrheim and Lord Protector of the Northern Marches.

Wolves,

I am honoured to have fought with you.

May the bravery of your fallen bring them, and your nation, undying fame.

We morn those who died in battle
Norscans to the end they fought
With sword and sheild they fell
Taking there enemies with them
Never giving ground
Always pushing forward
We take there losses to our hearts
And think of them as they go to valhalla

~Dwarven song of mourning~

VALHALLA

Look now amongst us, the proud men of Norsca
See how we hold up our heads with great pride
At our families in Midgard and the heroes in Asgard
The friends and the fighters we knew ere they died
Always too many who fell by the wayside
And though we miss them with longing and pain
We can always find comfort in the joy of their memory
And we all know that one day we will meet again

CHORUS:
Land one more blow in the halls of Valhalla
Drink one more horn at the table of Thor
Smile once again as you look down upon us
In our hearts you will live ever more

They fearlessly marched into danger and malice
Preparing to fight to the very last man
As the waves of our enemies broke on their shieldwall
Trapped and outnumbered they made their last stand
They lay down to rest on some far battleground
Cut down in their prime by the Enemies' hand
They fearlessly died for the one thing that matters
Protecting our lives and our laws and our land

CHORUS

Now drinking and feasting, rewarded for valour
In the halls of the All-Father, champions all
Their hearts hold no sadness, no grief can disturb them
for we'll be reunited when the Valkyries call

CHORUS
